LED Lights Cutting Costs for Belfast Shopping Centre
Shopping, or window is a pleasure for many people. With millions of people choosing to spend their weekend and free time in shopping centres, it’s important to have good lighting. Lighting doesn’t just make a space feel welcome and safe, it can have an impact on whether products get sold. The cost of all this lighting does come at a big price, which reflects in increased rents and rates within the shopping centre.
A shopping centre in Belfast is seeing huge savings after installing LED lights. Built in 1991, the centre was using old style lighting to precariously light its basements, carparks, and foyers. Centre manager John Jones commented that not only was the move to save money, it felt create a feeling of life and vibrancy.
“Not only have we cut our energy costs significantly, the LEDs in the basement car park are a significant improvement – shoppers feel safer returning to their cars. The new lighting in the foyers has also made the centre more vibrant overall.”
LED Lights: Safety and Improving Carbon Footprint For Businesses
Many businesses are faced with the hard decision of trying to save money without putting up the prices of their products and services. Energy costs are some of the biggest bills for businesses of all sizes to pay, and with energy prices rising, there seems little wiggle room reducing bills. Turning down or off the lights can save some money, but for end users, this can make them feel less safe, and even induce more accidents.
Reducing carbon emissions is also on the agenda for many businesses, and LED lights provide a key way of doing this. Saving money, and saving the environment are both possible with LED lights.
How LED Lights Save A Business Money
LED lights save a business money in a very effective, simple way. LED lights make the most of the energy and offer little waste compared to traditional lighting options. As they produce little heat, this means not as much energy is being used to create light as is the case with incandescent and fluorescent bulbs.
LED lights come in a range of colours, but the most popular one is a natural looking ‘white light’ which is easy on the human eye. LED lights waste little light, so more light is focussed on a particular area. This often means less LED lights are needed to light a dark area, so can reduce the feeling of a ceiling being over cluttered.
LED Lights: The Future of Commercial Lighting
LED lights do involve an upfront investment for many shopping centres and shops, but the payback can be made within months and years. As LED lights can least for years without losing quality of light, business owners will be pleased to know they are saving money on their energy bills, as well as offering a better shopping and working experience for many people.
