Outdoor LED Lighting This Winter
If you have a large premises for office space or industrial warehousing then you may need to consider lighting outside as well as inside. This is an area that is often overlooked but there are a couple of reasons why it is important. LED lighting might just be the perfect solution as it is long lasting and significantly cheaper to run than other older styles of lighting.
Brand Image
If you look at some really big named businesses they actually use their lighting outside the premises to create a feature and raise brand awareness. If you have a property that can been seen from major roads, such as motorways, having the building lit up at night can actually trigger people to remember you. In industrial areas you will notice that there are often businesses who light the exterior all night, and you may have assumed that it was because they have staff in. However in some cases it is actually a really clever marketing trick. Think about fast food chains that are easily recognisable due to the very tall beacons they site nearby, these are invariably lit up all the time.
Staff Safety
If you have staff using the premises after dark, and lets face it, in winter it is often dark by 4pm, you should consider LED as an added safety feature. If your staff have to cross a car park there is liability to the business owners. If someone was to trip and injure themselves, or indeed be hit by another car in the darkness the blame could fall on you. The addition of some LED streetlights will see this issue disappear and make carparks and communal areas safe for everyone to use. This also helps lessen the risk of crime. It would be harder for a thief to break into a parked car for example if the area is well lit, and it also means if you choose to install a security camera system, the images they collect will be a much higher quality. Whilst it isn’t a nice thought, and to be fair something that doesn't happen every day, staff have also been attacked when leaving work at night as thieves might think they carry keys or cash. Again good lighting can reduce this risk.
But Surely LED Lighting is Expensive?
The beauty of LED lighting is that is costs significantly less than you might think. Firstly LED bulbs last significantly longer than any other style of bulb. This means you will not have to change them as often which reduces both the physical cost of the bulbs and the maintenance staff costs. Secondly because they use a lot less energy there is a significant decrease on electricity bills. In many case they are up to 90% cheaper which is a saving that cannot be argued with. The light they produce is a white light rather than a yellow light which is better for they eyes and they are environmentally friendlier to boot!
There are many reasons why lighting the outsider of your premises is a really beneficial idea, why not take the plunge today.
